I’d like to thank the Academy…

“I’d like to thank the Academy….” Acceptance speeches start like this. And Baker Residential was among select homebuilders in Raleigh and Wake Counties to receive an award that, in our industry, is as prestigious as the Oscars are to the film industry.
MAME—Major Achievements in Marketing and Excellence—recognizes the efforts that go into differentiating homes. In a market known for distinction, it’s truly an honor to receive a MAME. And this year, Baker Residential earned 2 MAMEs in the virtual presentations held on September 16, 2020.
The MAME Awards are sponsored by the Triangle Sales and Marketing Council, in association with the Home Builders Association of Raleigh-Wake County. Awards are presented in a variety of categories, including achievement in logo and brochure design, signage, marketing campaigns, and events. Baker Residential took home the MAME for “Best Print/Direct Mail Piece for a General Brokerage/Agent” and “Best Model Merchandising for a Detached Home”.
Award winner: Weddington VIP Realtor Grand Opening
We hosted a special event to launch our Weddington community to Realtors in the Apex and Cary, NC, markets. To invite them to the Grand Opening, our marketing team put together a direct mail card that truly reflected the elegance of our vision for the community. The invitation featured photos of the exquisitely detailed Ansley model home, and it earned the MAME for “Best Print Direct Mail Piece or Newsletter for a General Brokerage/Agent”.
For the Weddington Grand Opening, we invited 150 agents to the event and 50 accepted. They were greeted by Liz Bauer, Weddington Community Sales Manager, and members of the Baker Residential sales and marketing teams. We served a luncheon and gave each Realtor a personal tour of the home, reviewed the site plan, and showed them the designs for the homes in the new Apex neighborhood.
As a result of this Grand Opening, Liz and her team sold 7 of the Weddington homes, which far exceeded our expectations!
Award winner: McKenzie Ridge-Manors Model Home
For the model home that was built in The Dartmouth floor plan at McKenzie Ridge-Manors, Baker Residential took home our second MAME of the evening. We received the honor for “Best Model Merchandising for a Detached Home” in the category of homes priced between $700,001 and $1,000,000..
Model merchandising reflects the way that a showcase home is styled and staged. Rachel Greene, Baker Residential’s Marketing Director, explained, “This model was designed to have a classic, elegant, and layered style and to create an inviting journey throughout.”
The “journey” includes a curated color palette of teal, navy, and crisp white—rich and colorful but not overpowering. The kitchen is truly a standout, with a polished chrome chandelier, clear glass pendants, classic white cabinets, a custom tile backsplash, and the beauty of Calacatta quartz countertops.
The eye-catching design of the model home at McKenzie Ridge-Manors continues with the selection of furnishings. The designer chose organic furniture with ample seating for the main living area, plus gaming chairs and livable casual furniture in the second-floor family room. This home truly speaks to today’s active family and to the homeowners who thrive on entertaining.
The model home is now the only remaining residence available at this Apex community. If your lifestyle leads you to making a positive change, contact Theresa Braswell at (919) 446-1075 to schedule a private tour.
Award winners: Chris Faughnan and Liz Bauer
Baker Residential’s new home consultants are also a source of pride for us, and a true reflection of “The Baker Difference”. Two of our team members—Chris Faughnan and Liz Bauer—were welcomed into the “Million Dollar Circle Club” as Platinum Level Members, reserved for those sales professionals who achieved a minimum of $10,000,000 in the past year.
Chris joined us less than two years ago as Community Sales Manager at Providence at Yates Pond in Cary, NC. His customers rave about his knowledge, attention to detail, and communication.
“Chris was a pleasure to work with throughout the entire building process. He was extremely responsive to our questions, concerns, and provided updates throughout the entire build process,” said one of his homebuyers.
Chris also earned his place in the Million Dollar Circle when he was a Coldwell Banker Realtor, where he successfully paired buyers with their homes for 24 years.
Liz Bauer joined her teammate in the “Circle” this year, a first for her. Liz has been with Baker Residential for most of our 23 years, so we were thrilled that she earned the Platinum status. She is currently Community Sales Manager at Weddington and was integral in the MAME Award-winning Grand Opening event held there.
It’s always exciting to be recognized for achievement. When both your people and your homes earn that acclaim, it’s even better. We invite you to congratulate Chris Faughnan and Liz Bauer!
Of course, the biggest “award” is the confidence that homebuyers place in us. When you’re in the market for a new home in a distinctive community, please take a look at the experience that Baker Residential provides.
