Baker Residential’s new community of luxury homes near Raleigh is now taking shape. The model is under construction and is scheduled to open in April! Weddington’s first estate home in Apex combines modern and eclectic styles, and promises to be the ideal harbinger of what’s to come as Weddington grows.

The model home showcases Baker Residential’s Ansley floor plan. The Ansley includes five bedrooms. The master suite and three secondary bedrooms are situated on the second floor. A first-floor guest suite includes a kitchenette, an ideal feature for pampering your guests or providing a private living space for extended family.

Our designer, Jenn Frost of JSF Designs, took on the challenge of achieving the style we wanted for our first home in Weddington. She exceeded our expectations, blending a rich color palette with an intriguing blend of modern, fun, and eclectic decor. We’re excited to give you a sneak preview of what’s coming.

The open concept in the main living area is filled with awe-inspiring details. The family room’s horizontal fireplace is wrapped in a quartz surround. The mantel aligns with the built-in cabinets on each side of the fireplace, continuing the horizontal line that presents a focal point. This linear design continues to the ceiling treatment, where Jenn visualized stained planks that are inserted within the box ceiling accent.

This Ansley floor plan features a formal living room that is more contemporary than formal. The centerpiece of the space is the shiplap detail in a chevron pattern, sectioned off with dark-stained beams. Jenn chose a dark color for the living room walls to create “an intimate feel of a cozy space in the unexpected living room.”

She explains, “This space is one that is often not used by the typical family, so including a ceiling feature and rich wall color helps to bring them in.”

The palette of earthy tones—from dove gray to shades of blue and deep charcoal—combines here with a mixture of textures and geometric patterns that carry on the linear look.

The dining room is connected to the kitchen with a butler’s pantry. The passion for ceiling design is reflected in this space as well. The coffered ceiling adds dimension above the furniture, which Jenn has chosen in contemporary style with crisp lines.

Upstairs, she approached each bedroom with a vision for personalities. The master suite blends a hint of traditional furnishings with Art Deco patterns and modern design. The four-poster bed is anchored with an upholstered bench.

Each of of the three secondary bedrooms has its own theme. In the bedroom with the rock climbing theme. One wall is painted in colorful, geometric mountains and wall rocks have been applied for the curious climber. Another bedroom has a musical theme, with a two-colored, wood-planked wall that doubles as a headboard. The third bedroom’s soft pink bedding is sprinkled with tiny splashes of vibrant color. Stripes and dots are placed here and there, creating a room that ages with a little girl.

The upstairs loft is playfully appointed with pops of bright color in teal and yellow among the gray and navy palette. Serving as a family TV viewing and game area, this space invites fun!
